After we’ve given our lives to Christ, it’s not uncommon to experience some tough days. I can think back to some times since coming back that were in some ways even harder. Let me explain... When we’re not living for God, we can get used to walking in darkness. We sort of adapt to a deep down sadness, without even realizing it. But then we come into this new life in Christ. Once you’re walking in the light, you’re a child of God, living in opposition to Satan’s plans.

So, what does Satan do? His first scheme is usually to get you discouraged and make you think that God has forgotten you. If he can get you feeling discouraged, then the next thing he does is make you feel like life before God was better. So now that you are vulnerable, he brings a temptation your way.

You need to recognize the enemy’s schemes! Don’t be surprised when he tries to discourage you. Fight against him with the word of God!.

You’ll see in today’s bible reading, how Jesus had to stand against Satan.
