The Path of Perseveranceናሙና
Knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.” 2 Peter 3:3-4
Peter ends his second letter with a sober reminder that Jesus will return. Our blessed hope is the coming of the Bridegroom. On that day, there will be no more persecution, trial, error, pain, tears, mourning, or grief. Look for that day! Be watchful and stand fast in your faith. Run from compromise and the lusts of this world. Peter has one last warning that the day of His return will come like a thief in the night, but for those of us in the faith, we are to be eager for it. ‘Looking forward to this things…’(v.14)
Peter also refers to Paul's teachings on the return of the Lord. As Peter’s letter ends, you feel the strong reminder that the pathway of perseverance is paved with stones that cry MARANATHA!
- As I continue down the pathway of perseverance, how can I live in the expectation of the Lord's return?
- What sacred rhythms can I establish in my daily life to live a lifestyle of holiness and flee from the compromise of the lusts of the world?

In the final hour, many will fall away, but there will be a remnant that finishes the race of faith well. Now, more than ever before, we need a reawakening in our hearts of the true meaning of enduring through trial, suffering, and pain in light of the return of Jesus. "The Path of Perseverance" is a 26-day journey through the books of Philippians, 1st & 2nd Thessalonians, James, 1st & 2nd Peter, and Jude.
