God's Fathers - Questions for Fathersናሙና
God's fathers live by the character of God
I want to know Christ and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to Him in His death, and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead (Philippians 3:10-11).
God's fathers are characterised by a life that reflects that of God the Father. Children who can see the character of God the Father in their own fathers trust Him more easily, walk close to Him, believe Him, fear Him, believe His promises, and easily respond to His commands.
God's fathers study the character of the Father. The character of God the Father is imbued with the holiness of the Father. The holiness of the Father is the only characteristic of the Father that cannot really be described in words. It is for this reason that the angels stand around the throne of God and continue to cry out in wonder for millions of years, "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty" (Revelation 1:6). Fathers who live close to God are sanctified by their closeness to Him.
Children do not fear God's holiness. They are attracted to it. That is, unless holiness is confused with false piety.
Fathers teach their children about Jesus. They tell their children the stories of Jesus' life. They teach their children that their only desire should be to "know Jesus" (Philippians 3:10). Fathers live by the commands of Jesus and teach their children to obey those commands.
Fathers teach their children the importance of telling people about Jesus and make sure they know that they can only get to heaven through a personal relationship with Jesus.
They teach their children to pray and to read the Bible.
Fathers teach their children how to be soul-winners. Then the wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness will shine like the stars forever and ever (Daniel 12:3).
Fathers make disciples of their children. They guide them in discipleship until they are able to turn new converts into followers of Jesus.
