Cutback Season

Who wouldn’t want more? Who would not desire to be more fruitful both naturally and spiritually? As elementary and high school students, we are educated and groomed to become productive members of society. In this country, we learn about democracy and the voting process. We learn about taxes and how each level of government operates. We are taught to only work hard and make positive contributions to our various networks and communities to experience success and promotion. If we do the right things and make good, sound decisions, then success will follow us. While I believe this type of golden rule concept is still true, unfortunately, the world cannot prepare us for the understanding of spiritual things. The Word of God reveals that in order to have Kingdom promotion, we must experience pruning, cutbacks, shutdowns, suspensions, demotions, and so on. Many of us become so fixated on the reductions we forget that it is just a temporary season designed to produce exponential growth. We may not agree with it and we may not understand it, but God uses methods that appear foolish to confound the logic of the wise. We must remain consistent and not faint during our cutback season to show God that we are ready for MORE.
