The Bible Matters Because _______________.

DAY 2 OF 23

You might be asking yourself, “Why is it important to talk about the Bible’s relevance today?”

Good question! Here’s why we believe it’s so important.

According to Barna Group and their publication, “The Bible in America: The Changing Landscape of Bible Perceptions and Engagement,” the number of people who believe the Bible is just another book written by men (22 percent) surpasses the percentage of those who are Bible engaged (17 percent).

Non-Christian millennials are a demographic where Bible skepticism is particularly prevalent, so their engagement with the Bible is at an all-time low. They have lots of strong opinions about the Bible, including the belief that it’s simply mythology (38 percent), a fairy tale (30 percent) or even that it’s dangerous (27 percent).

But we know that’s not true. The Bible is God’s Word, breathed into existence by God himself and meant to teach us how to live our daily lives! It’s powerful, convicting and life changing, and people need to understand that for themselves.

That’s why the #WhyBible campaign exists — to challenge people to share with the world that the Bible still matters today, and to encourage them to engage with it deeply. It’s not just another book — it’s the Book, and it’s one of the foundational ways we connect with God.
