5 Keys to Organizational Transitions

DAY 5 OF 5

5 Keys to Organizational Transitions: Part V

In the book of Acts, the disciples were faced with a significant transition in their ministry. Following Jesus’ departure, Peter led his team in prayer, filled their leadership gaps, rallied people around the vision, and built a close-knit, well-trained community.

The time had come for Peter to personally execute the fifth key in organizational transitions byimplementing the plan Jesus intended. Following through with your plan will take you from a disorganized idea to a successful and thriving business.

In Acts 3:6, we read that Peter said to a lame man, “I do not have silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you: In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, walk!”

Just like Peter modeled, you must begin implementing your plan. It does not even have to be grand to begin with. You can start with something as small as walking, as long as you are heading in the right direction and your following steps are defined.

If your organization is in transition, prepare your team, but also begin implementing the plan. Your team needs an example to follow. There can only be growth and development from a transition when the plan is seen through.

Questions for Reflection

  • What spurred your decision to transition your business? What is the end good you are seeking? What are you most worried for about the transition? What are you most confident in for the transition?
  • Consider Psalm 32 for guidance as you make your way through the transition.
