What Jesus Said About Prayer

DAY 7 OF 7

Enter God's presence with worship and praise

One of the most effective ways to bring us into His presence with adoration, hope and faith is to focus on His Names.

When we pray to God, let us come in worshipping Him. When we worship God, we come to Him because of who He is. When we praise God, we come to Him because of what He has done for us and is still doing for us.

As you read your Bible, mark God's names and His attributes and pray them in your prayer times. Here are just a few examples:

God

God is our Father.

God is a God of patience and comfort (Rom.15:5).

God is merciful and gracious, long-suffering and abounding in goodness and truth (Ex. 34:6-7).

God is Almighty, the All-Sufficient One (Gen. 17:1).

God provides, heals, gives rest and peace and does wonders.

God is omnipresent One and a wall of fire around us.

God is a refuge for the poor.

Jesus:

Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6).

Jesus is the Lamb that was slain (Rev. 5:12).

Jesus is the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End, the One who was crucified.

Jesus is the Stone which the builders rejected.

Jesus is our Saviour.

The Holy Spirit:

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, counsel and might, knowledge and of the fear of the Lord (Isa. 11:2).

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of holiness, wisdom and truth.

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of power, love and self-control.

The Holy Spirit is our Comforter and Helper.

Thanksgiving: Spend time thanking God for answering your prayers. Giving God thanks acknowledges His sovereignty and goodness and shifts the focus away from us and onto God. ...giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Eph. 5:20).
