Signs of Glory

DAY 2 OF 8

Healing the Nobleman’s Son

Jesus traveled to Galilee where a high-ranking royal official begged Him to cure his son, who was laying sick at Capernaum. Jesus did not need to travel in order to heal this young man. He simply said to the official, “Go, your son will live”. History tends to portray Galileans as fickle in their beliefs, but this man showed great faith as he returned to his household. While he was still traveling, his servant met him with the news that his son had been healed and he realized it was at the exact moment Jesus had spoken. The entire household then believed Jesus was the Messiah.

There is so much we can learn from this story. This miracle was used to produce faith in the whole household! Jesus performed signs for those who had eyes to see them, not for the whole world to see at once. When that one child was healed, an entire family found faith.

Also, in this story, we see the power of Jesus. This sign miracle was used to show His deity by proving He had power over all things, including space. He has authority over everything. Through whatever you are facing, remember who is in control.
