God's 7 Promises for Youናሙና
The promise of God’s strength
Thanks for joining me again today. Let’s take a moment and talk to God together in prayer.
Jesus, thank You that You never grow tired or weary. We praise You for Your inexhaustible strength and power, and that You share that power with us. God, give us Your miraculous strength at this moment, to accomplish Your purpose for our lives. We give ourselves to being used for Your glory today. Amen.
I have been a pastor for over 30 years. I have preached thousands of messages during this time. Here is something that may surprise you – I still get VERY nervous. Every weekend, before I preach, I get sick to my stomach because of nerves. So for that reason, breakfast is never an option on Sunday mornings!
I carry the weight of preaching God’s Word very seriously. I want people to hear about the miraculous power of Jesus, and I want to make sure that I am connected deeply with God before sharing his Word. One of the promises that I carry with me every time I preach comes from Isaiah 41 where God said:
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:10, NIV)
I am not afraid to preach, I just want to make sure that all of my words belong to Jesus because it is His message. My nervousness is a gentle reminder that this was never meant to be done in my strength, but in His. I have learned that when I feel nervous or overwhelmed, the greatest thing I can do is pray. You will often find me backstage at the church, quieting my heart by praying in my prayer language. I intentionally step away from people and connect with Jesus. When I pray, a miracle happens. I find my breathing slows down, my heart rate come down, and my focus dials into my Savior, my King, my Jesus. I have also learned that when I cry out to Jesus for His strength, it is there and available every single time!
The inexhaustible strength of God is available to you today! You can tap into that power to accomplish all that God has for you today. Plus, you can do it without fear because you have a promise. God’s hand is holding you right now! He is holding you and infusing your mind and your body with His strength. Live your life with confidence today!
I am praying for you.
You are a miracle!
