Got Change?

DAY 14 OF 40

TRUTH MATTERS

How did Sin come about? The reason could be attributed to the disobedience of Adam and Eve, but even before that, it was conceived and given birth to because of a lie - the lie from the mouth of the serpent accusing God of telling them a lie. And that's the nature of Satan. He is a liar and an accuser - lying to the world and leading them to a false identity and a false hope of their destiny. We too were living under the lies and accusations of Satan until we found a Savior in Jesus.

Jesus on the other hand declares himself to be the Truth. He is by nature full of grace and truth. There is absolutely no deceit in Him. And if we have believed in Him we need to be people growing in truth and cleansed from the lying tongue. Truth is to reign in our spirit and not just in our lips. Worshiping the Lord in spirit and in truth is the kind of worship the Father seeks. We grow in this truth by growing in the word of God as prayed by Jesus - Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth.

This truth in us must flow out in our everyday interactions with people. God seeks truth in your hearts. So let your yes be yes and your no be no - even in little things like conversations at home with family (for instance, asking your spouse or child to tell the person on the phone that you are too busy to take the call or not at home when you are actually available), financial dealings, sending reports at job / business and so on. We must be careful to not allow the enemy to deceive us through these big and even little lies.

When we are rooted in the truth, we also become people who learn to speak the truth in love to those who don't walk truthfully. Because those who don't live in the truth still have the chains of the enemy over their lives and we who know and speak the truth must set them free through the truth that is in us. 'You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free!'(John 8:32)

The CHALLENGE to Change:

Don’t take the easy way out by presenting falsehood. Make a habit of speaking and acting truthfully. Ask the Holy Spirit to quicken your conscience especially in this area, break the habit of telling lies – we are children of the Father of Truth, not the father of lies.

About this Plan

Got Change?

We keep talking about change, how much this world needs it. True change is not brought about by the formation of new laws, rather by the transformation of each one’s life. You will find in this Plan a reminder for each day of an area we need to change in and grow, prompting us into Christ likeness and becoming the change this world needs to see and emulate. So…..Got Change?
