A Kid's Guide To: Knowing God Is Always Good

DAY 6 OF 6

Making a Change

If my own people will humbly pray and turn back to me and stop sinning, then I will answer them from heaven. I will forgive them and make their land fertile once again.
2 Chronicles 7:14 (CEV)

Adults are often worrying about America. They worry about our leaders, immigration, money, elections, crime, education, and the list goes on. It’s enough things to talk about to fill our news channels 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

But so what? It’s not like there’s anything you can do about it all.

Or is there?

Actually, you can do an important thing for your country: you can pray. People can work and argue and fight all their lives for America, but if God isn’t helping, all those efforts will fail. So, we need to pray! We need to ask God to forgive us for what America does wrong. We can ask him to keep us safe from enemies. We can ask him to give our leaders wisdom. Most of all, we need to ask him to turn the hearts of more Americans to follow Jesus.

America is a great country because God has blessed us. Many people throughout our history served God and prayed to him. You and your generation can do the same. God will hear your prayers. He promises that in his Word.

SPIRITUAL FITNESS TRAINING

God’s Word encourages us to pray for our leaders. Write down some traits of a good leader. Now pick a government leader and pray for them to have those traits. Double-dog dare: choose one you don’t agree with! (Yes, we should pray for them, too!) Bonus points: send them a letter telling them you are praying for them.

PRAY

Lord, thank you for this great nation and the freedoms it offers. Please forgive us and help us. Heal our land.

KEEP IT GOING
