Strong: The Promise of 1 Peter 5:10 For God’s Daughtersናሙና
Day 1: God’s Promise to the Woman That Is Healing
And after you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself restore you, secure you, strengthen you, and establish you. ~ 1 Peter 5:10 BSB
Every woman has an inner being, the deepest aspect of herself that is known completely by God. When your inner being is whole and well it communicates life, comfort, and strength to your body and soul. However, when we are wounded, we impede the capacity to receive the strength to thrive and prosper. Rather than simply accepting these voids and gaps that hinder the soul, we should actively seek God’s healing and redemption so that we can walk in wholeness and completion in Him.
The good news for God’s daughters is that we serve a faithful God. His eyes are ever upon us, and His power is at constant work to strengthen the areas of our inner being that may be weak.
I live to see women accomplish this spiritual work in their lives. Early in my life, I faced many experiences that weakened my spirit: abandonment, abuse, and hardship. But through journeying with God and allowing Him to heal, strengthen, and repair my inner being, I became internally strong, and my life completely changed.
One of the Scriptures that gave me immense strength as I journeyed through this process was 1 Peter 5:10. Peter wrote this letter to scattered Christians in Asia Minor from a deep place of knowing the futility of trying to face suffering and danger in his own strength. His failures taught him the need to constantly rely on God’s work in our lives, so he prays this for his Christian friends.
To become internally strong, you need to rely on God. When you rely on Him, these same words of strength and promise spoken of in Peter can apply to you. God will redeem you and make you internally strong by restoring, securing, strengthening, and establishing you.
Over the next five days, I want to take you on a journey of releasing the promise of 1 Peter 5:10 to you as God’s daughter.
Will you make a conscious decision to open the doors of your life so that God can work on those internal places, whether mental, emotional, or spiritual?
Questions for Reflection: Do you truly rely on God for your healing? What might stand in the way of this?
As you spend some time in stillness with the Father, put before Him all that hinders you from total dependence on Him. He is able to do a powerful work within you once you trust Him and believe.
