Ten Ways to Find Messiah in the Passover

DAY 8 OF 10

The Messiah Has Blessed Us Greatly

The Passover liturgy includes a catchy song. Its title, Dayenu, means, “It would have been enough.” Dayenu is a way to rejoice over what God has done. We acknowledge that God has given us more than we could have asked or imagined. Each verse of the song recounts part of the exodus story. One example is, “If He had merely split the sea for us, but had not brought us through on dry ground.”2 The participants echo every verse with the joyous cry, “Dayenu!” This song expresses gratitude for what God has provided. Whatever hardships we go through, we can look back on what God has done for His chosen people and in our own lives. Dayenu celebrates how God keeps all His promises to Israel and sustains them even when they disobey Him.

Followers of Yeshua may also sing this song to remember how greatly He has blessed us. Not only did He live a sinless life, but He also died to atone for sin. Not only did He die for us, but He also rose from the dead. Not only did He rise from the dead, but He also ascended to the right hand of God. Not only did He ascend to God’s right hand, but He will also return. We have so many reasons to give thanks! Let us echo the words of the apostle Paul:

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Messiah Yeshua, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Messiah.”
(Ephesians 1:3)
