Trusting God With Our Whole Lives

DAY 1 OF 4

You Will Reign Over Kingdoms

This Flag Message begins with a description of a scene. A child and a father. It is you. It is God.

The scene we describe is what we saw in our imagination when we were praying for you—although the first words we heard from God were actually these: ”You will reign over kingdoms.” And then he stopped speaking to us for a few minutes. In the pause, we saw the image of a child and a father: you and God.

We will be sharing the scene in a few segments each day of this plan, followed by the words we heard God speak over you.

Bless you, dear friends.

Part 1:

You are a child, bounding with joy. You are free. Smiling. A piece of wood—like a staff or a walking stick—is in one hand, but you don't use it like that. You carry it like it could be so many things: a sword, a tool, an instrument to write in the dirt, a hammer, a pretend musical instrument. You are carefree and light, on a walk with your Father. You are excited to be with him, out on an adventure. You don’t know what’s ahead, but you are confident it will be good. You have no worries, nothing on your back, no supplies or food, and no agenda—just your stick. And you swing your arms back and forth, occasionally looking down at the ground to jump over rocks and mind the holes on the trail.

You are unencumbered—a child on an adventure that will bring challenges—and you are up for them. You are ready, you think, for anything. You are not the one who has to have things figured out. You know your Dad has you. He has the plan. He has the details. He knows what is coming. He knows where you are going. He knows what you will need. He knows the danger and the way you will be stretched. And you know it. Because your Father keeps walking—you keep walking too. Unreservedly. Unhesitantly. And you bring much delight to your Dad.
