DAY 2 OF 5

Day Two: A Soak In The Presence

Every morning, you have to include the Holy Spirit and acknowledge the presence of God. You have to prioritize understanding the presence of God in itself.

It starts with knowing what the presence of God is, what the Glory of God is and what worship is.

“Can a man hide himself in hiding places So I do not see him?” declares the Lord. “Do I not fill the heavens and the earth?” declares the Lord (Jeremiah 23:24).

“Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence?” (Psalm 139:7-10)

The presence of God is the actual presence of Him being exactly where YOU are. The Bible says even in Sheol, He is there. I reckon that alone proves His sovereignty and endlessness.

So, if He’s everywhere, doesn’t that mean that we don’t have to call Him when we need Him? We just acknowledge His presence in our lives and allow Him to do what He omnipotently wants to do. When we worship, we worship Someone who is already in our midst.

God loves to show His glory to those hungry for it, for you to marvel at and to hold as a testimony.

What is God’s glory?

John Piper once said it is the manifest beauty of his holiness. The public display of his holiness.

It is a distinguishing memory of something unmatched, sacred and holy.

Can you imagine why the Bible says the heavens declare his glory? The heavenly beings see His holiness and the manifestation of His holiness. It’s no wonder they can’t stop worshiping Him! Which leads us to our next point:

“…and the priests could not perform their service because of the cloud, for the glory of the Lord filled the temple of God” (2 Chronicles 5:14).

The glory of God will always propel you to worship. Always. You feel an arrest to just bow and worship Him. His throne just feels like it’s right in the room. I’ve found myself countless times lying prostrate in my room.

Worship is the marvel of God when we acknowledge who He is. In your worship alone, be aggressive. Honor the presence of God. Loudly say, as you realize yourself, who He is and how great He is. Saying it loudly makes it more real to you (even logically) every second.

You can even ask Him to reveal more of who He is and be attentive as He does. The rest, He will do.

Doing this every morning is important because it makes you go into the day standing fearless because the One who is on your side has shown Himself greater while things against you stand defeated before Him.

Day 1Day 3

About this Plan

Take Heart: A 5-Day Devotional by HLE

There’s an understanding that you can only worship in church or in the setting where there are people and band and singers. Whether or not we realize it, we are robbing ourselves of a very important part of our existence. Worship is like air to us. Just like water is to fish, so is worship to us. And the more you do this exercise is the more you’ll see how vital it is. Every day we will learn something new to incorporate into our daily meditation, prayer and worship routine. I know it will make a huge difference in your life.
