Lead as If... Leading With Eternal Perspective

DAY 3 OF 5

Lead as if….

Your team was writing your annual review.

How do you think the disciples would have described Jesus’s leadership style or evaluated His coaching? If they were honest, they would have probably mentioned the consistency of truth in love. They might have even complained about his rebuke’s harsh and direct nature while respecting the message. Jesus held them accountable while speaking sternly and graciously. He prefaced many of His teachings with “I tell you the truth” or “Ye of little faith.” Again, truth with accountability.

There’s a tenderness and toughness that encapsulates a great leader’s skill set. Your team doesn’t always have to like you, but it’s vital that they respect your intentions and the heart behind the direction. The disciples understood that Jesus had a purpose that was fulfilling a prophecy. They understood that despite being called out for their lack of faith, Jesus loved them and entrusted them with content that would change the course of humanity. If we lead by assuming our team members are taking notes, we might be more aware of what we say and how we say it.

The teachable moments within our coaching environments require an equitable combination of grace and truth. An indirect reflection of your leadership is determined by what resonates with your team. Often, the only gauge of our effectiveness and significance is if the team implements and executes according to our teaching. Most importantly, behaviors that can be replicated. Jesus modeled the mission through discipleship which illustrated a picture of an effective ministry.

About this Plan

Lead as If... Leading With Eternal Perspective

This plan will enable leaders to see, through a futuristic lens, hypothetical scenarios of their leadership legacy. I desire that this plan empowers leaders to visualize a better reality in their coaching and team-building environment. We are impacting people beyond the walls of our homes, schools, and corporations. Our leadership style and execution have an eternal impact.
