Psalms Streak: A Daily Devotional in the Psalmsናሙና
A God that Sees
Evaluations and reviews - we all have to face them sometime. If you’re studying at the moment or training for something, it’s very likely that you’ll have regular evaluations to measure your progress. One thing we really don’t like to hear from a teacher or coach is, “you could have tried harder.” All of us have a deep desire to please others and be accepted, and we love to know that we are doing well or meeting the mark.
The amazing thing about God is that you are already accepted and loved by Him. David goes as far as saying in verse 8 that, as His children, we are the “apple of His eye”. It’s because of His great love that He tests our hearts and examines us at the end of the day (v. 3). He is concerned about you and committed to seeing you grow and deepen your relationship with Him. He is a God who sees and cares about the small details that you care about. Invite Him to examine your heart today so you will reflect His heart and love to those around you.
GO DEEP: Take some time to let God examine your heart today. What are you doing well? What do you need to improve on? Invite Him to speak into those areas and remember that you are the apple of His eye.
BE BOLD: Who needs to hear this? Who could you share it with?
