Psalms Streak: A Daily Devotional in the Psalmsናሙና
The Angels, Kings, and You
“Praise the Lord!” What does that even mean? Have you ever gotten praise from a teacher or parent for a good grade on a tough test? Have you ever been praised for cleaning your room or helping out around your house? Have you ever been given praise for singing or playing an instrument or performing in a play? People who care about us show us love by praising us. And it feels GOOD.
The Lord has done far greater things than us. He created the earth and all that is in it. Psalm 148 is a call for everything on the earth to praise God. Praise isn't just assigned to the choirs or famous worship leaders on YouTube. Praise is for the angels, the sun and moon, and every animal He created. It is for kings, princes, and rulers. It is for children, teens, young men and women, and the older generations. YOU are listed among those from whom God desires praise. Right alongside angels, kings, and rulers, the Lord delights when YOU praise Him.
GO DEEP: This Psalm is a command to praise! Make a list of the things you can praise the Lord for. If you are musical, put your praise to song or dance! If you like to draw or paint, create something as an act of worship. Praise the Lord in whichever creative way you like best.
BE BOLD: Who needs to hear this? Who could you share it with?
