Advent in Israel: The Places of Israel & the Story of Jesusናሙና
Day 3 - Garden Tomb
He is risen. This cry would have been on many lips three days after the death of Jesus. The women went to the garden where He was buried and found that the stone had been rolled away. The angels declared that He had risen just as He had said He would. The joy of knowing that He lives, and because He lives, we have forgiveness of sins and the hope of new life. This is the mystery that the prophets for centuries had longed to understand. The Messiah would come as a suffering servant to save the world from oppression greater than Rome—their own sinful hearts. The resurrection of Jesus proves that He was everything and more that He claimed to be. His death and resurrection brought life to the world!
Jesus’s heart has always been for those in bondage. How can you live free today knowing that Jesus conquered death and sin?

As we enter the Christmas season, we are all eager to celebrate the birth of Jesus, the point in history where God descended into humanity to bring life to a broken world. Each day leading up to Christmas, we will provide an overview of the biblical significance of a location in Israel, along with a devotional prompt that will connect that location with the life of Jesus in Scripture.
