What’s one thing you spend your money on often? Maybe sneakers, or music, or clothes? Chances are you spend your money on that specific thing because you value it. In other words, it’s like a treasure to you. The things we give most of our time, energy, and money to say a lot about what we ultimately care about in our hearts. And while there’s nothing wrong with buying shoes, or clothes, or music, we want to be sure that we’re not looking to those things to give us what only God can provide.

This week, ask God to help you see where you might be treasuring something above God. Then, ask for God’s help to shift your focus back!
