Fervent: Fight Fear With Faith ናሙና
A pandemic, locusts, and cyclonic storms – we’ve seen them all. Are you wondering what on earth God is doing? I don’t claim to understand why all these events are occurring. But there are some truths we can hold on to when life doesn’t make sense. For instance, the fact that it is during such times of trials and suffering that our desire for God grows keener. Suddenly, we may find ourselves having more clarity about how we value life and the things of life. Such times show us what is true of eternal value; what ultimately matters in the light of eternity. These events are good compasses that enable us to set our priorities straight if they’ve been drifting a bit. Are these the events we would have chosen to realign our lives? Probably not. But the Word of God says that our thoughts are not His thoughts, and our ways are definitely not His ways (Isaiah 55:8). So through all these life-shaking circumstances, let us hold on to the Rock of Ages, the One who does not change and whose kingdom cannot be shaken, come what may!
Pray for the Church:
• That our love for God will not grow cold in the face of doubts and fears.
• That we will cling to our Rock, regardless of whatever we face.
• That we will have a deeper trust in God and His ways, which will be revealed in the way we love and serve others.
