If this pandemic has done anything, it has revealed the idols in our hearts, the real treasures we hold dear above Jesus Himself. What a mercy that God has given us this opportunity to see the state of our hearts and repent of our pride and self-sufficiency. Only when we repent and turn from the things of this world can there be healing in our lives first and then through us to the hurting world around us. Let us pray for clean hearts and a right spirit to allow God to work in us, showing us the areas in our lives where we have looked to our work, our income, our plans, and our accomplishments for identity and meaning. May we be willing to seek Him, listen to Him, trust Him, and desire Him above all else.
Pray for:
• Revelation of any sin in our own hearts and the humility to seek forgiveness.
• A spirit of repentance and contrition among the Church and spiritual awakening.
• A desire to treasure God above all else by reorienting our hearts to trust Him.
