Blazing the Path to Peace

Guess what? When I was a little girl, I didn’t have any brothers or sisters. I prayed and prayed and prayed for a baby brother for eight years! And then finally, God answered my prayers and the prayers of my mom and dad, and my mommy had a baby! When my baby brother was born, we were so happy! He brought us so much joy and happiness. He was a miracle baby. We know that God has a special plan for him and that he was born at just the right time!

SCRIPTURE
Read Luke 1:5–25 and 67–80.

THINK
Do you believe that God answers prayer? Do you think anything is too hard for God?  Do you think that faith pleases God? Do you believe that God has a plan for the life of every single person?

God’s plan for John’s life was to prepare God’s people to believe in Jesus. God has a plan for your life, too! He created each one of us and He even knew about us before we were even born— just like he knew about my baby brother. God’s plan for our lives is that we love and serve Jesus forever! We can help prepare the way for people to believe in Jesus when we serve others and when we love others.

DO SOMETHING
Serve your neighbors by doing something nice for them today. Ask your parents for some ideas!

PRAY
Dear Jesus, thank You that You have a plan for me and for my whole life.  I want You to use me in Your plan to save the world. Amen.
