The First Family

“So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.”—Genesis 1:27 (NIV)

Do you know who the first people on earth were? It was Adam and Eve! They were the very first family God ever created. But do you know why God made them? Do you know why God made you? That’s definitely a question we’ve probably all wondered at one point or another. The cool thing for us is that the Bible gives us the answer. 

You were created so you can tell others about God’s goodness and so you can enjoy Him forever! God wants you to be a part of His family and to spend eternity with Him in heaven. Adam and Eve were the first people ever to know God and live out this purpose. 

But then something happened. Adam and Eve disobeyed God and decided to do things their way by eating a piece of fruit from the forbidden tree. Have you ever wanted to hide after your mom or dad caught you doing something you weren’t supposed to? Well, that’s what Adam and Eve did. But God didn’t stop loving or caring for them just because they made a mistake. 

You see, Jesus came to take away our sins and forgive us so that we can spend eternity with Him in heaven. Today, because of Jesus, we not only get to know God, but He can live inside of us if we invite Him into our hearts.
