Following Jesus Will Turn Out Greater Than You Can Imagine
Do you love storms? Are you fascinated by thunder and lightning and wind and rain?
Or do you hate storms? Maybe they make your armpits sweat and your stomach do cartwheels.
At Saturn’s north pole, there’s a storm that’s always raging. And it’s not a small storm! Saturn’s weather system is double the size of Earth. Plus, it remains one of the biggest mysteries ever. Why? Because the storm is shaped like a perfect hexagon.
If you’re not sure what that shape looks like, Google it now. (Get an adult’s permission!) Then come right back here.
Scientists have no idea why Saturn’s massive storm came to be shaped this way. It’s just one example of something scientists know a lot about, but not everything about.
Many mysteries occur in nature that we may never have the answers to. The same is true for what happens when our life on Earth is finished.
That’s not a super fun topic, is it? Maybe that’s because we don’t have all the answers about what happens next.
But the Bible does tell us some things: that God will live with people in heaven, and that He will be their God. How amazing is that?
Life in heaven with God and the rest of His family sounds incredible. But what does it take to get to heaven?
Kindness?
Goodness?
Forgiveness?
As difficult as getting into heaven may seem, it’s actually very simple.
All you need to get into heaven is faith in Jesus. That doesn’t mean you have to be perfect. Think about Paul! He thought Christians were the enemy, then he became a Christian! Paul knew God’s goodness was bigger than his mess-ups.
The same is true for you.
All you need is to trust in God’s Son, Jesus. (If you’ve never put your faith in Jesus—if you’ve never asked to be in God’s family forever—be sure to read tomorrow’s devotional.)
DO THIS
Grab some paper and something to draw with. Draw a picture of what you think heaven will look like. How will people travel? Where will people live? What will people wear, do, and eat?
While you’re drawing, remember: following Jesus will turn out greater than you can imagine, because it’s our faith that gives us the hope of heaven.

Having faith means trusting in what you can’t see because of what you can see. That’s hard. How can we know God is real? Can we trust Him when bad or scary things happen? What about when we do bad things? Will He forgive us? Through this Bible Plan, we’ll take a closer look at what it means to put our faith in Jesus (and how it makes life better).
