Thinking WITH GodSample

Thinking WITH God

DAY 4 OF 4

We are God’s craftsmanship of a special sort designed to do what God prepared for us to do. Doing what God prepared means that we are thinking with God about our lives. Thinking with God is the mutual mind that changes our character, identity, and spontaneous responses. Consider what St. Paul says, “we are His workmanship [poiēma].” Poiēma means “poetry” but ancient Bible poetry is a rhyming of thoughts rather than sounds. One example of rhyming thoughts is:

Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised;

He is to be feared above all gods. Psalm 96:4

We are designed so our thoughts rhyme God’s thoughts—not worded the same way but with the same theme. Through attachment love with God, our thinking becomes mutual mind with God. We “get it” when we hear God. By thinking with God rather than about God, we do what God would have us do: the works God prepared for us ahead of time.

Day 3

About this Plan

Thinking WITH God

Did you ever find yourself wondering, “What was God thinking?” If God is as much smarter than us as we are smarter than a grasshopper, there is a lot we won’t understand. But, living as God wants us to live means our brains have to think WITH God. We can learn that. This Plan gives four places to practice.
