The beauty of the resurrection of Christ lies in the hope it brings to our lives. In the same way that Christ suffered on the cross, we undergo suffering in our life on earth. In the same way that the glory of Christ’s resurrection could not compare to the suffering He experienced on the cross, the glory that we will experience in the resurrection cannot compare to the suffering we experience.

It is often difficult to grasp what is to come, especially as we face trials and suffering and pain in our lives, but we can cling to the hope we have in Christ. Even on our best day, the goodness we encounter and experience on earth cannot compare to the glory that will be revealed when Christ returns. 

Our redeemer lives, and He is coming again. We can rest in this hope knowing we are not alone as we experience suffering: even creation is enduring and waiting for the return of Christ. Our hope in Christ is what sustains us and renews our minds day by day.

Lord Jesus, I expectantly await Your return. Help me to believe today that the suffering and pain I experience cannot compare to the glory that is to come. Help me remain firm in my faith as I eagerly await Your return. Amen.
