COME TO THE WELL

Living water flow, saturate my soul.

Let your mercy run over and over.

You’re refreshing me, nothing else can compare. 

We have all been thirsty at some point, but have you ever been so thirsty that you felt you were about to pass out? Once you finally get a drink, it can be so refreshing and satisfying. In John 4 it talks about a woman who is coming to a well to draw water, something she most likely did every day. But this time was different, Jesus was at the well and they had a conversation that forever changed her life. You see, it’s only when we drink the right thing that our thirst can truly be quenched. Imagine running outside in the heat of the day and then coming inside, extremely thirsty and drinking a tall cold glass of milk. There may be a temporary satisfaction, but ultimately that is not going to quench your thirst, because your body is longing for water. The same is true for us spiritually. We often fill ourselves up with things that have temporary fixes or feel good in the moment, but when we come to the well of Jesus, only then will we quench the eternal thirst that is within us all. 

Once we have tasted that life-giving eternal water, we start to develop a desire to help others see the life-giving water Jesus can provide. Our mission becomes His mission. 

Oh, He won’t run dry, His Spirit brings new life.

His grace is flowing down, so come to the well, come to the well.

One more advantage we have with drawing from the well Jesus provides us is that He will never run dry. Everything else in this life that we draw from will eventually fade away, but there is always more that we can receive in the presence of our God. 

Our prayer is that you would drink from the well that never runs dry today. We believe when you have tasted Jesus and see that He is good, you always want more of Him.
