Peter begins chapter 5 by speaking to those in spiritual leadership. He reminds them of the great responsibility that they have. Peter tells leaders that they are simply stewards over the people they lead. He reminds the leaders that their service should be done, not out of obligation but with willingness that pleases God. Leaders have a responsibility to lead honestly, humbly, and by example. They are accountable to Jesus Christ and will be given a reward for their service upon His return.
