Reading the Bible in Historical Sequence Part 1ናሙና
Fifty days after Passover, on Mt Sinai (Horeb), God prescribes His Covenant with 10 main rules and other laws. The New Testament calls this day Pentecost, the Greek word for 50.
Note Exodus 20:23: In Egypt the people had learned to worship the Egyptian gods and their idols, thus paving the way for future spiritual problems such as in asking Aaron to make the golden calf (Exodus 32:1). The bull idol, a symbol of fertility and strength, was popular in Egypt.
