Love God Greatly: 1 & 2 Thessaloniansናሙና
Read: 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
SOAP: 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14
Paul comforts the believers in Thessalonica by communicating that Christ will return for His followers. Those who put their faith in Christ for forgiveness of sins and die before Christ’s return will be resurrected first at the sound of the trumpet. Finally, believers who are alive will be raptured and meet Christ in the air.
The reality of Christ’s return should comfort us when we lose a loved one who is a Christ follower. We do not grieve without hope – because we know that we will be reunited on the glorious day of Christ’s return. Any trouble or sorrow we are facing today will fade from view the minute we see His face.
Father, thank You for the hope of heaven. Help me to live with my eyes fixed on eternity. Amen
