True North: Brotherhood Is A Necessity

DAY 2 OF 7

WORSHIP

I’ve always thought that church worship was reserved for the 3 songs I sang before the pastor came on stage on Sunday morning. But, I have seen worship from my Christian brothers in so many different ways. I see them worshipping the Lord when they help a brother out with a meal. I’ve seen guys worship the Lord when they dig into the Bible and speak a true word about who God is and what He means to my friends. I have seen worship when we gather around a man who is truly struggling and we lay hands upon his shoulders and pray.

Worshipping the Lord does not have to be reserved for church or even music. We can worship the Lord in many different ways. We can worship Him through reading His word together or celebrating victories that God has helped us claim. We can worship the Lord through our prayers together and our preaching and teaching.

Think back on Paul and Silas as they were chained together in prison. It was through their close brotherhood that they were able to join together in praise and worship the Lord from a jail cell. That worship led to the salvation of the Roman guard, his family, and ultimately the church in Ephesus which was to be planted.

Don’t underestimate the power of worship and the joy it can spread through sharing spiritual battles won with your brothers in Christ. When we talk about them together, we are testifying to His hand at work in our lives.

Do/did you see prayer, financial giving, or reading the Bible as worship? What are some ways that you can worship the Lord with your brothers in Christ?

About this Plan

True North: Brotherhood Is A Necessity

God did not design us to be alone.  Rather, He designed us to be in community with other believers. Brotherhood is the relationship between brothers, especially brothers in Christ. So much can be learned and gained from a strong community of believers. It’s not only a great option for a believer; it’s mandatory to survive in today’s society.
