Abundant Life
Living for our own gain is foolish, the Bible says. But Jesus offers an alternative. He tells us that those who lose their lives for Him are the ones who will find the abundant life He promises.
God calls us to a life of complete sacrifice to Him because the plans He has for us are infinitely better than any we could come up with on our own. The perfect love of Jesus compels us to lay down our lives so that we may follow in His footsteps. And the life plan He offers to His followers is perfectly designed to give us hope and a future.
As His disciples, we imitate Christ by giving up our lives and physical bodies as offerings to serve Him. By dying to ourselves and taking up our cross, we follow the example of Jesus—learning to walk in love, expanding His Kingdom, serving others, and glorifying the name of the Father.
