Seek the Lord--now
One of the coolest shots in basketball is the buzzer beater. Nothing is more exciting than a half-court shot made a half second before the end of the game. It swishes through the net, and the team runs onto the court to celebrate its victory.
There's a problem though. If you miss the shot when the buzzer sounds, your team loses and there are no second chances.
Life is like that too. God says there is a clock running on your life, and you don't know how much time is left. He tells you to "seek the LORD while He may be found. Call on Him while He is near. Let wicked people abandon their ways. Let evil people abandon their thoughts. Let them return to the LORD, and He will show compassion to them. Let them return to our God, because He will freely forgive them" (Isaiah 55:6,7).
This is not just stuff for grown-ups. This message is for you too, because no one knows when his or her time is up. Don't wait until you're older. God wants you to read His Word, trust in His forgiveness, and share the good news with the people around you. Do you have a neighborhood friend or cousin who could really use God's good news right now? The clock is counting down. Thanks to Jesus, who freely forgives us all, we'll have the best buzzer-beater celebration ever!
