DAY 3 OF 6

God Releases Angels When We Pray

Not only do Angels worship in Heaven, but they are released by the Word of God to be Warriors, Messengers, and Helpers (Ministering Servants) for the sons and daughters of God.

In Acts 12, Herod was persecuting the Church. He killed James and threw Peter into prison with the plan to kill him after Passover. Peter was securely locked up. “…that night Peter was sleeping, bound with two chains between two soldiers; and the guards before the door were keeping the prison.” (Acts 12:6, NKJV).

But… “fervent and persistent prayer for him was being made to God by the church.” (Acts 12:5, AMP). God works miraculously when the Church prays corporately because there is such strength in this kind of prayer!

“Suddenly, there was a bright light in the cell, and an angel of the Lord stood before Peter.” (Acts 12:7, NLT). Where Angels manifest, there is Light. They appear abruptly and leave suddenly. "The angel struck Peter’s side and awakened him, saying, 'Get up quickly!' And the chains fell off his hands.” (Acts 12:7b, NLT). The intervention of Angels is marked by Supernatural and Divine Acts of God.

They bring hope when people are praying in desperate situations! “23) For last night an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve stood beside me, 24) and he said, ‘Don’t be afraid, Paul… What’s more, God in his goodness has granted safety to everyone sailing with you.’ 25) So take courage! For I believe God. It will be just as he said.” (Acts 27:23-25, NLT). Paul’s prayers on that battered ship were answered by an Angel who stood beside him. The Angel brought hope!

“There was a man named Cornelius, 2) a devout man and one who, along with all his household, feared God. He made many charitable donations to the Jewish people, and prayed to God always. 3) About the ninth hour [3:00 p.m.] of the day he clearly saw in a vision an angel of God who had come to him and said, “Cornelius” (Acts 10:1-3, NLT). God sent an Angel to this devout man who had a generous heart toward the poor and was always praying. It was his prayers and generous heart that caught God’s attention (Acts 10:4).

“11) While Zechariah was in the sanctuary, an angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing to the right of the incense altar. 12) Zechariah was shaken and overwhelmed with fear when he saw him. 13) But the angel said, “Don’t be afraid, Zechariah! God has heard your prayer. Your wife, Elizabeth, will give you a son, and you are to name him John.” (Luke 1:11-13, NLT). An Angel of God showed up when Zacharias, the dad-to-be of John the Baptist, was offering incense at the hour of prayer and said to him, “God has heard your prayer!”

Pray, pray, pray. For not only does God hear our prayers, He also releases Angels in the answer to our prayers!
