Prayer 10: The Prayer of Jabez

Today's key Scripture passage, 1 Chronicles 4:10, mentions a man named Jabez who prayed a specific prayer. Jabez' prayer covered just about every aspect of life in a few short words. His prayer asked for lots of blessings from God:

And just as God granted Jabez what he requested; He will do the same for you. God is no respecter of persons. What He did for one, He will do for you as well.

"Father God, in Jesus' name, I thank You for allowing me to come before You BOLDLY. I'm here to pray a bold prayer, Father, because this prayer is in Your Word! Therefore, just like Jabez asked, I ask today:

• Father, please bless me INDEED! I ask You to bless me BIG, with every blessing You desire to give me, including the ones I don't know to ask for.
• Please enlarge my territory. Grow me and give me more territory for You. Help me to manage it well, and to manage it for Your glory!
• Please put Your supernatural hand upon me, and upon my life. Do through me and for me what I could never do for myself.
• Please keep me from all evil, Lord. Protect me from the wiles of the enemy. Deliver me from temptation. Keep me from sinning against You. Keep me protected from evil from any source.
• Along the way, please make me like You. Give me godly character. Make me nice and kind and loving, and may Your Holy Spirit bear His fruit powerfully in my life. Make me a blessing, and never a curse, to all those around me.

Thank You, Heavenly Father! In Jesus' name I pray, amen."
