Dynamite Prayer

DAY 7 OF 7

Empowered for Faithfulness

"For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power [dunamis] and love and self-control." — 2 Timothy 1:6-7

As we look at Timothy's story, we see a young leader in the early church who was a close companion of the Apostle Paul. Paul encouraged him to be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. Despite his youth, Timothy was responsible for guiding and teaching others, which required great courage, love, and self-control. Timothy's ministry is a testament to the transformative power of the Holy Spirit's dunamis in a believer's life. His steadfastness and dedication to the gospel, despite the challenges of his age and inexperience, demonstrate the Holy Spirit's ability to empower and equip God's servants for every good work.

We can learn from Timothy's story and apply it to our own journey. Where is God calling us to step out in faith, even if others may doubt our ability or qualifications? How can the Holy Spirit's dunamis embolden and equip us to carry out the tasks before us? These are important questions to ask ourselves as we seek to follow God's call on our lives.

Prayer:Gracious God, like Timothy, may I receive and nurture the gifts You have placed within me. Let Your Spirit of power, love, and self-control be evident so I may faithfully fulfill Your call. Amen.

Prayer-Hold:(to carry in your heart today) "Empowered by the Spirit’s dunamis, I walk in faith and faithfulness."
