DAY 35 Success Fulfill – a short and powerful word. What Jesus had to do with his life, He did. Perhaps this is the best definition of success! Success is important for my life. But I do not always think about what success really is for me. What I perceive it to be, and what it really is, is not always the same. For example, I know in my heart that my family and friends are very important to me. However, looking at where I spend my energy and thoughts, my job appears to be more important. I do not always connect with this truth, that my life is more about status, security or freedom than a relationship with my immediate family. Jesus’ relationship with his Father characterises his life – his Father’s will above all! Now, at the end of his life, his caring for his mother is evident in the way He attends to her. He sees her as a priority. One day when I die, I would also like to know that my life was a success, that my life is fulfilled. EXERCISE • Take some time today to think of your definition of success. • To help you do that, complete the following sentence: • I will be happy if/when _______________________________-. The people around you can also help you to see your life with greater clarity. • Ask the people close to you, what do they think you live for? • Reflect on it. Are their answers that which you want to live for? This is a journey, and you are invited to start it today.
