The Joseph Principles

DAY 2 OF 5

You Are Not Alone

The incredible technology we have in our world enables us to be interconnected in a way that does not seem possible. And yet, people are lonelier than ever. That loneliness deepens when we are in the middle of trials or experience tragedies. During those times, it’s easy to look around and see life speeding by and everyone else going about their day. And we feel so alone. It seems no one else notices or understands.

But God…

He has promised to be with us. He sees us and knows our pain. And when we feel alone and without connection, He reminds us we can have intimacy with Him. Jesus tells us, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

Surely, Joseph felt deep loss and abandonment throughout his life. Yet his intimacy with God enabled him to experience God’s presence and confidence in Him, knowing He had a plan.

The beautiful thing is that when we have intimacy with God, He is able to heal our wounds and help us even breakout through the pain and loss into a greater intimacy with Him. The deep hurts in our lives lose their power over us. Where does this intimacy come from? Through the Holy Spirit and the words and life of Jesus recorded in Scripture.

Consider

Are you feeling alone right now? Do you have friends you can turn to who will listen and encourage you? Jesus said, “My words are spirit and they are life.” If you will begin to spend more time reading Jesus’ words in the Gospels of John, Matthew, Luke, and Mark, you may become amazed by the power of His spirit and life that will flow from His words into your heart and mind. You can experience firsthand the unexplainable peace and joy that can only come from Him.
