Identity in Christ

DAY 1 OF 3

Who Are You?

Have you ever asked yourself that question? I often ask myself, “Who am I?” Things in this world are a mess! We can feel tempted to try to fit into the sinful lifestyles we see around us because we are searching for our identity. We might try to fit in by using drugs, porn, alcohol, and money to relieve loneliness. We might choose to hang out with the wrong people who are a bad influence on us.

The thoughts that we allow into our minds are powerful. “ I am not good enough. I am not loved. I am not worthy enough.” These types of negative thoughts can constantly run in our minds. Friends, I want to tell you that you are loved, cherished, and valued by God. No matter what you do or say about yourself, you are loved by God.

So, how do I learn the truth about who I am? To know who we are, we must change the way we think about ourselves.

Renew your Mind!

If you want to know who you are, you must think how God wants you to think. Don’t copy the ways of the world. The kind of identity that you see in this world is not going to make you happy. Things in this world are temporary. They are not your true and eternal identity.

Romans 12:2 says, “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”

Challenge Yourself:

Start saying something positive about yourself! Write this down on a notepad, mirror, or wall, and say it to yourself every day: I Am Enough, I Am Loved, I Am Worthy, and I Am Cherished by God.
