God declares his love for us in his word and actions. God cares about each little detail of our lives. This verse encourages us to share our burdens with him because he cares for us. Just as a mother wishes to help her child sort through the fears and problems of life, so our heavenly Father wants to help us. We are to give our worries to him. 

It can be hard to rely on others. Like a toddler who always says “do it myself”, we often don’t want help. We fail to accept God’s help and struggle and suffer unnecessarily. But how much better is life when burdens are shared and carried together. Sometimes just sharing a problem with a friend can seemingly shrink its size. And when that friend is the almighty God, there is nothing too big for Him.
