DAY 4 OF 365

And God Said...  Come now, and let us reason together, that's what God says. Isaiah 1:18               I'm not "the sharpest knife in the drawer" as Bill says. And I am uncomfortable conversing with people who are way beyond my conversational level. (I have solved this problem in a clever way. I ask questions--and most folk love to talk about themselves and don't seem to realize how "smart" I am in redirecting the interaction! I talked for an entire flight to a gentleman about hydraulic pumps and I had to look up 'hydraulic' to spell it!)             But I am secure in talking to the Lord. Even though my IQ doesn't even register when compared with His. He is so wise. He "comes down to my level" and we have these "fireside chats." Bill says that Isaiah 1:18 (above) is one of the most amazing verses in the Bible. Imagine! God, asking me to sit down and talk with Him!             Are you thinking, "Do you actually talk with the Lord, Anabel? Really?" Yes, and He talks back. Sometimes through just a fleeting thought, sometimes through something He has written in His Word, sometimes through a friend--but He is always there. I don't have to make an appointment. I don't have to "dress" for the occasion. I don't have to prepare for the "interview." We just "talk." We sit down and reason things out together.             It's fun to sit around the table and talk to your friends getting their "opinions" about God and our relationship with Him. We may have different viewpoints about some things, but that's all right. Real friends can share and not be threatened and real Christians know that only the Spirit knows the mind of God[1] , so we relax and enjoy that time together.             Someone has written a book about "conversations with God", but from everything I've read, the author doesn't bother to get God's thoughts or feedback--he just gives us what he thinks--and he can be terribly wrong in his "one-way" conversations. The Bible is full of "and God saids"--that means God talks to us. We listen to Him and then ask Him to explain (through meditation, other scriptures, a student of the Bible, or other authors) what He just whispered to me.             What a God we have! What a wise, loving, understanding God we have. Why don't you come, sit down with Him, and "reason together?" [1] Isaiah 40: 13-14, Romans 11: 33-36
