Target: Aiming To Focus On GodSample

Target: Aiming To Focus On God

DAY 4 OF 5

Obeying God’s commands for your life is of extreme importance. Intentionally following your own plan and not God’s plan is rebellion. No matter how someone tries to fashion disobedience, God is not pleased with the deliberate rejection of His word.

It is vital that we don’t allow distractions, fear, pride, and our opinions to interfere with obeying God’s commands. Believers shouldn’t focus on God’s methodology but on faithfully aligning in obedience to carry out His commands in our lives.

Obeying God is the key to godly success and affects others. When you accept Jesus Christ as your Savior, be advised that God’s ways are not popular with the world and some people will not understand God’s call on your life.

While following God’s commands, people might resort to; mocking, ridiculing, debasing, and harassment when God calls you and your family to serve Him. It is better to be obedient to God than to succumb to the disobedience of the world’s influence.

An example of the consequences of not following God’s commands is the story of Saul. God made Saul King over Israel but later regretted it because Saul did not carry out God’s commands. Samuel told Saul to listen and pay close attention to the words of the LORD.  Saul was given a command from God to strike Amalek and completely destroy everything they had and to not spare them. Saul was informed to kill; both man and woman, child and infant, ox and sheep, camel and donkey. Saul failed to thoroughly follow God’s commands and spared Agag, the king of the Amalekites, as well as keeping the best of the sheep, oxen, fatlings, lamb, and every good thing to his eye.

Saul was the king, he held a leadership position that came with responsibility to follow God’s direction and command.

What positions are you in that require God’s obedience and focus no matter what?

Believers must be willing to follow God’s directives, even if it means running away from, letting go of, and departing from anything or anyone prohibiting God’s purpose in your life.

Saul, like so many of us, failed to focus on God’s targeted plan, and his deliberate disobedience resulted in his dethronement.  No matter how Saul attempted to fashion his disobedience to appear desirable, it was detestable before God.

God requires our complete obedience as He aims us towards His Targeted Plan for our lives.
