The Way To The Savior - A Family Easter Devotional

DAY 2 OF 7

Hope No Matter What

Job was a successful man with a wonderful family, home, and life. He loved God, and God blessed him. Then everything fell apart as God allowed Satan to test Job. Job lost his children, his animals, and his servants. God allowed Satan to go one step further and put painful sores all over Job’s body. Incredibly miserable, Job found himself questioning why he was even born.

Job’s friend Zophar visited him and offered the words you see in Job 11:18. He encouraged Job not to give up. No matter what Job was going through, he could have hope in God. You can have that same hope and know that God is in control of your life. He sent Jesus to earth to die on the cross for you, and He is always watching over you.

Sometimes you might want to give up but think about Job. He lost everything yet still believed God would be faithful. Even when life is difficult and everything seems to go wrong, you can always have hope in God.

Dear God,

I want to have the same hope Job did. Help me to understand that no matter what, I can have hope in You. Amen.

Cross Connection

Have you ever hoped for something you didn’t believe would happen? How do you think that hope is different from the hope Job had? How did Jesus dying on the cross for your sins affect the hope you have?
