The Greatest Gift

DAY 3 OF 4

“For to us a child is born, to us, a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6)

Part Three - We can celebrate the greatest gift

Christmas is coming! Are you excited? This is the most important time of the year when we celebrate Jesus being born. When Jesus was born, His birth was celebrated by lots of people.

A Saviour had been promised to the people of God a long time before Jesus was born, through the words of Isaiah the prophet. Now, at long last, it was really going to happen! God was sending His son to earth to come and live with them so that He could have a relationship with them. Imagine if someone really important was coming to live with you – you would be so excited!

The Shepherds were the first people to hear the exciting news of Jesus’ birth. Some angels told the Shepherds that they were bringing 'joyful news to all people'. There would be no exceptions. God sent Jesus to earth because He wants to be in relationship with everyone!

The Angels sang, 'Glory to God in the highest! Peace and goodwill to everyone on earth!' because the birth of Jesus was such good news! As we celebrate Christmas, remember the Gift that God gave us and celebrate Him! It is because of Jesus, we can have a relationship with God!

ASK:

What do you do to celebrate the gift of Jesus at Christmas?

When and how can we give glory to God and celebrate the gift of Jesus that He gave us everyday?

PRAY:

Thank you God for giving us the greatest gift ever. Thank you that you sent your Son to earth to reach us with your love. Help me this Christmas to celebrate you, and love you more.  Amen
