Say Something

There’s this great quote from Mother Theresa that you should know. It goes something like,

“Preach the Gospel always. Use words when necessary.”

I love the heart of this quote. Our lives should look enough like Jesus that people can see Him in us without us ever having to speak a word. I agree wholeheartedly. Your life should speak loudly of the goodness of God.

But if you want to maximize your influence, then at some point, you’re going to have to say something.

Don’t ever be afraid to share with others about how good Jesus has been to you! Speak boldly about Him! Your words matter!

We live in an age of activism. Everyone is aligning themselves with causes and ideologies, and if you don’t speak up about Jesus, it could be easy to confuse your good-works-because-of-Jesus with, “She does good things because she’s woke.”

We call the message of Jesus, “The Gospel.” The word Gospel means, “good news,” not good deeds, not good thoughts, not even good prayers. Its good NEWS. The best news ever. You don’t ever have to be afraid to give someone good news.

Match your good deeds with the good news, and people will see Jesus clearly.

1. THINK ABOUT IT! How is the message of Jesus good news to you?


2. REFLECT! How would you tell your best friend about what Jesus has done in your life? Go ahead! Tell them!


3. PRAY! Father, help me to speak boldly about You! Give me the right words, at the right time.
