For No Other Reason - Chris Quilala

There is nothing like being in the presence of God. All over the world churches constantly gather together in worship. He surrounds us in His glorious presence and often times we feel our burdens lifted or see God do incredible miracles when praised. He is so kind and loves to give good gifts to His children (James 1:17). 

That being said, it can be easy to pursue God for His gifts instead of simply pursuing Him. While it’s certainly not wrong to ask God for healing or breakthrough in our times of worship we have to remember the single reason why we worship! It’s simply about exalting His name. It is about coming again and again to say, “yes” to God. Humbly giving our lives as an offering to our King. This is what the song, “For no other reason” is about. He is “the miracle that makes the seas move” and all we need we find in Him. 

We don’t ever have to choose between the gifts or the gift giver. 

He loves to respond to our worship by meeting us wherever we are at, pouring out His presence with signs, wonders and miracles. When He shows up we simply point our hearts and affections back to Him. Pursuing Him for no other reason than just to know Him and be known by Him. 

I encourage you to take time today to thank God for all He has done in your life setting your attention and affections on Him. Watch as everything else in life falls into place as you seek first His kingdom!
