Life In The Kingdom

DAY 14 OF 45

Peace With God

The Hebrew word for peace is shalom. Shalom’s basic meaning is wholeness and well-being in all areas of life. Solomon wrote:

A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones. (Proverbs 14:30)

The absence of peace often leads to frustrations, fear and fatality. We all battle the desire to find peace in our lives and peaceful solutions for our problems. Peace. We all need it. We seek it. But we often struggle to keep it. But in order to have a peaceful heart we must begin with having peace with God. Life lived apart from God is incomplete. Separated from God life is empty and without peace.

22 "There is no peace," says the LORD, "for the wicked." (Isaiah 48:22)

Only in Jesus can we find real peace. He is the Prince of Peace. Because of His death on the cross, peace with God and peace with men is made possible for everyone and from everywhere.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, sometimes it feels like I’m in a battlezone, in an endless storm and everything is out of control. I need Your peace and presence in me. Lord, calm my spirit and let me be in peace with You. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen!
