Celebrate Mother’s Day: A Time to Honour Mothers

DAY 4 OF 4

What do you think is highest number of babies born to one Mum? Some sources say one mother was pregnant 27 times, giving birth to 16 pairs of twins, seven sets of triplets and four sets of quadruplets. In total she had over five dozen kids! Although this was in the 1700’s, can you imagine how many strollers she would have needed?

At the end of the book of Proverbs we read about a woman who was a hardworking mum and put all her energy into her home, family, and children. Proverbs is a book in the Bible that is known for its wisdom. It’s interesting that the last chapter of this wise book, chapter 31, describes this woman of noble character who cares for others and lives for God. And the very last verse of this very last chapter encourages the reader to honour this woman. Mother’s Day is a time to honour our mums and other amazing women in our lives.

All of our families and stories are different. Some of us have had hard times, good times, sad times and amazing times, but no matter what your family looks like, we are part of an even bigger family, the family of God. Parents want to make sure their children are cared for, loved, believed in, prayed for, reach their dreams, and be happy. It’s the same with our God, He wants all these things and so much more. We are His children, we are part of God’s family!
