O Evangelio Jezus Kristusester pala Markus 1912 (Sinte)

Romani, Sinte

Sinte

Sinte is a form of Romani found in central Europe and northern Italy spoken by the Sinti Gypsy people, which shows a strong influence from German.

O Evangelio Jezus Kristusester pala Markus

This Romani Sinte Gospel of Mark was translated by Engelbert Wittich (1878-1937) under the superintendence of Reinhold Urban. Engelbert Wittich was a German traveller who became a writer and illustrator. He learnt Sinte Romani from his wife Friederike, and Reinhold Urban was a writer on Gypsy issues.

The Gospel was written in Latin script using Slavonic style diacritics for Sinti Roma in southern Germany. It was printed in Berlin by the Angliko ta Vaver-themeskero Bibolo-malapen (British and Foreign Bible Society) in 1912.
